Ismat Javani comes by his passionate way with spices naturally; - his interest in cooking was sparked at a young age in his native Nairobi where Arabic, Indian, Portuguese and British culinary streams mingled. After much travel and honing of his skills in Greece, Germany, France and England, Ismat settled in Toronto where, since 1993, he has been Executive Chef for Fred's Not Here and its siblings. The exciting "New Miami" menu at Cha Cha Cha with its innovations with the flavours of sesame seeds, pistachios, kaffir lime leaves, lemon grass ginger, cumin and cardamom, is the latest of his projects to dazzles Toronto's Entertainment District diners.
